The city where I work recently put up a bunch of terrible AI slop posters on electrical boxes, etc. Reflecting on why I find them so offensive, I think it's because they all have this bubbly look of "low effort maximalism" where everything has an unnecessary amount of detail, which tends to make them visually overwhelming to look at. I still have oppositions to AI art on moral grounds, and I doubt I'd ever hang a poster that I knew was AI-generated on my wall, but to give the author of this post some credit, I would be way less offended if the AI art that my city generated looked like any of the examples on this page.
