I think you’re mistaking “agreeing with Islam” with “standing against prejudice.”
No liberal I know agrees with the tenants of Islam. But they might have Muslim friends who catch a lot of flak for no reason other than belonging to an outgroup.
- mkeedlinger 12d agoIf they don’t agree with the tenants of it, seems like association or “being nice” to those friends is off the table. At least, that’s what seems to me to be the logical conclusion of what the article espouses. I’d guess that there are instances where the author would and would not agree the line is, but I also think that the subjectives of that line is where people might take issue with this article.
