Two of the three words in your example are proper names, which the author decided not to include.
The full "ub" list in cmudict is:
ubben
uber
ubiquitous
ubiquity
ubuntu
Ubben is a name as well, so it should leave us with uber, ubiquitous and ubiquity.
I think uber might have been dropped by accident because of Uber.
- amitp 6d agoI think it'd be reasonable to keep uber, but I had dropped it because it wasn't in /usr/share/dict/words on Linux or Mac. That was a quick&dirty way to filter out proper names, but it misses some other words too.
- wartijn_ 6d agoI was wondering why you involved that dictionary, but this makes sense.
