You can still get arrested in spain for saying a joke about Luis Carrero Blanco being Spain's first astronaut.
Luis Carrero Blanco, was the fascist dictator Francisco Franco's right hand man, his car war blown several stories into the air by ETA freedom fighters, hence the joke.

- TitaRusell 6d agoAnd yet they were the only ones blowing up fascists. Every time it's not the moderate progressive democrats who lead the resistance. Shame that.
- klrefg 5d agoAlso they continued blowing up people after the transition from fascism. Even before that they constantly murdered civilians. For instance the IRA was very mild and moderate by ETA standards.
- FullMetalBitch 5d agoCalling them freedom fighters is not knowing anything about them. Their first actions were stealing from banks and most of the victims happened after the dictatorship was over.
- RobotToaster 6d agoI was referring to the people who sent Blanco to space as freedom fighters. I don't know what modern day ETA is up to.
- klrefg 5d agoNot much. Back then it constantly murdered civilians (of many magnitudes lesser importance than Blanco) and generally had no concerns about collateral damage. It continued this for years after Franco was gone..
