If anything that shows that AI doesn't replace skilled people. It accelerates the production of these assets, still requires skill and knowledge to produce good results.
Up until recently, you'd pay someone else to create these. The organizer of an event or concert doesn't have the artistic talent to create these, nor skills in design/Photoshop apps.
Now the organizers of those events, understandaly, go to ChatGPT so they don't have to pay someone else, and this is the result.
That said it's likely for many the results are "good enough" and the designers job is effectively lost to AI. I doubt some random small event organizer sees the value in paying someone else to use AI to make them a slightly more original poster/flyer.
I'm not sure even over time we will see people appreciate the need for skill in using these tools because there will be more noob-friendly apps that do all the prompting for you. For example in this article it's clear one could make a "make a poster" app where you just click a few buttons to pick a style, and end up with more varied designs just like in the article, and with no need for another skilled person.
