This person has over 1000 submissions. Going for the quantity-first approach I guess...
Edit: following up my less productive comment with a productive one: this ToS update was crowd-sourced diff treasure-hunt with, at the end, no treasure to be found. These ToS changes are really quite unremarkable. I wonder which change of terms OP decided were interesting enough to post about.
- pndy 13d agoThere's at least 10 other accounts who do the same
- catoc 13d agoThis account has 50 submissions in the last two hours! [Edit: not the parent; the posting account] I don’t know why GP’s comment was flagged because submitting at a rate of 25 submissions PER HOUR is not done out of a genuine desire to share something that may be of interest to fellow human beings. Not even for personal bookmarking
- pndy 13d agoSome accounts have a clearly more privileged status here and are allowed to upload content without limits - especially from big outlets.
- catoc 13d agoStill why does a comment noticing that get flagged? I cannot imagine it’s Dang doing that, he consistently comes across as much too reasonably for that. Does that mean flagging is automated when criticizing ‘big outlets’ spamming HN?!? (The spamming account comes across as a person from their bio)
- catoc 13d agoAnd now this honest question is getting down-voted!! What’s going on?
- simonebrunozzi 12d agoWhy did you lie? I posted 3-4 things in the last 2 hours, not 50. That's probably why I haven't been flagged. If you believe me, I do it by hand, and I do it for things that I genuinely believe can be interesting for the HN community. And yes, a secondary benefit of my submissions is that they also act as a sort of bookmark, because obviously when I submit something that I deem interesting, it's also good to be able to easily retrieve it later.
- catoc 12d agoI stand corrected. You posted only 6 submissions in the last 24 hours. Not my place to judge you. (I used the Hack for HN app on iOS which, incorrectly, showed 50 hits). I apologize.
- simonebrunozzi 12d agoThanks a lot for this. I really appreciate you correcting your previous statement. And, please, if you find what I do annoying (posting submissions frequently), let me know here, or email me (it's in my profile) and I will be happy to hear your arguments.
- catoc 11d agoThe last thing I want to do is harass people online. I care about HN and dislike bots and automated posting taking away real human interaction. You're not a bot - which I had already noted from your profile - and I have no problem with people posting frequently; and even if I did, that would be as valuable as any random person's opinion. So please don't let my error keep you from being you.
