The problem he found was not unregulated free market capitalism, rather the opposite. Suppliers and supply chains did not operate on the free market and the denigration of manufacturing in north America due to worker/talent shortage
- LadyCailin 8d agoOutsourcing to cheaper locales is the unregulated free market at work. Why would the free market pay you more when I can pay less to someone else, for equivalent enough work? Because you’re an American? The unregulated market does not care about that factor. Manufacturing doesn’t pay enough to attract workers, if it did, this wouldn’t be a problem.
- vablings 5d agoTwo-fold problem. Manufacturing pays lower -> Lower quality workers enter the workforce -> Manufacturing is justified in paying lower -> Increase in pay is relevant -> Low-quality workers arrive -> Pay is unjustified.
