- bryanlarsen 18d agoImmigrants in Canada have a higher labor force participation rate than Canadian born citizens do. When the wave of Syrians arrived a few years ago, most quickly got jobs. Many of them started working for businesses started by the Lebanese diaspora from the 80's.

- hylaride 18d agoWe mostly cherry-picked the educated Syrians, though. While I broadly support immigration, we're fresh off a backlash of the student visa abuse. We need to tread carefully.
