Generalizations about people from countries A, B, C are almost certain to end in flamewar. Opinion is certain to be split in every country, and you can't know where all the commenters are from, even if a few people happen to say so. I'd also say that "I think it is telling" (without saying what the tell is) and "while Americans explain to us" have flamebait overtones that point in a polarized, if not hostile direction. This is not the curious conversation we're trying for here.
