I wrote it right after a very bad breakup where I dated someone for ~6 months and then they walked away from the relationship while we were speaking about marriage. I ended up finding comfort (a little too much perhaps) in hanging out with friends and eating mangoes. That's the Mango Affogato reference at the start. I was Mango, she was the Affogato.
