- debugnik 10d agoDoes it really count as non-aligned if the observer states are very much aligned?
- sheepjumpmoons 10d agoThe point was non alignment with the two superpowers.
- bryanlarsen 10d agoBoth Russia and China are observer states within the non-aligned movement.
- gpvos 10d agoI'm pretty sure that is a more recent development, and that at least the Soviet Union and China weren't observers during the cold war. (But I haven't looked it up.)

- ndiddy 10d agoThere are over 30 US military bases in EU member states, so I would classify that as alignment with the US.

- ndiddy 10d agoI agree that if EU states start kicking out the US military, that would be compelling evidence of an actual shift in alignment.
- thih9 10d agoThere is shift in alignment, even if the source is different. A popular headline from earlier this year was "US pulling 5000 troops from Germany"[1].
