The topic is fraught with misunderstandings/talking over each other, but I think the point of GP is that you can adopt the ideology, but not adopt an ethnicity, or vice versa. Someone can be against zionism, but not against all jews, agreed? Thus, the two categories must be distinct, regardless how much or little overlap they have. Also for specificity, the nazis co-opted "aryan" much like they co-opted the swastika. Neither actually represent what they claim, even if both are now tainted by their use of it. TL;DR: "Nazis lie", which I guess is a truism.
