“My ad watching gives them a few cents”
I don’t think this is remotely true for most major ad-tech services.
For U.S. users, Google and Meta average several hundred dollars of annual ad revenue each. To replace their ad revenue you would need to charge ~$30+ a month for the service.
- maerF0x0 20d agoInteresting, yes. I put my approximate youtube numbers into chatGPT and it estimates $2.40-$9 a month, so at most I'm earning them on par with their cheapest offering.
- phyzome 20d agoI recommend using a calculator rather than a chatbot. (Speaking of quality.)

- phyzome 19d agoAnd you verified that program and its input sources, right?
- maerF0x0 19d agoDo you verify every input and output of your car's fuel system map? No, if the car runs well enough most of the time for your purposes you stop looking. That is where chatGPT is for me these days on the kinds of tasks I throw at it, and for the seriousness of HN comment threads.
