  Twitter is not society. It's a privately-owned web site, nothing more. Always has been. Participating in it is giving your bogeyman power.

    I didn't say Twitter is a society, and it doesn't need to be. The joke in the comic is "Mr. Gotcha" trying to counter a desire by people to change things, by pointing out that those people participate in those things. Could be society, could be Twitter, could be anything. The comic takes this common internet argument to its logical extreme. The takeaway is that participating in something doesn't actually detract from efforts to change it. Also, to think that I, one person, can give or withdraw any of twitter's power is a silly proposition.
