- random3 17d agoDimensions, and hence surfaces and volumes are part of our “tooling” used to understand the world (epistemic) rather than being intrinsic to nature. So the befuddling is related to our own interpretation.
- gowld 15d agoI don't think that's true at all.
- gowld 15d agoIt makes sense when you realize that all the information inside a black hole is present at its surface. An object itself approaches singularity, but to an outside observer it never crosses the event horizon, so everything "inside" (in its own view) is also "on the surface" to an outside observer.
