That's all well and good, but doesn't answer the question. If you think genAI is going to destroy the world (I don't, by the way), then how does making it open source stop that? I truly don't understand. It's like saying "we can neutralize this doomsday device by making it easy for everyone to build one of their own." If you really think genAI is a mortal threat, then putting it in the hands of everybody only increases the danger. There are many problems that genAI being open source would address. It just seems to me this isn't one of them.
