I've been using the Discord "thick client" on Linux for many years now and it works just fine. I've never seen any sort of crashes, nor have I seen any instability that couldn't be explained by shitty Internet "weather". Having said that, I run it with Xorg, so maybe it's a huge disaster under Wayland... I wouldn't know.
