Show HN: 100 Player Online Smash Bros
I used GPT-6 Astra and the recent Melee decomp project (https://github.com/doldecomp/melee https://github.com/doldecomp/melee) to make an online battle royale mod. 100 players in a box, in stamina mode. The last player alive wins.
You will need a good ping/wired internet to run this properly. It works with some controllers out of the box (Xbox for example), but I'm working on figuring out Gamecube controllers.
- vunderba 20d agoNice job, but I'm surprised you're not a bit more worried about DMCA takedowns, given that Nintendo has a history of being pretty litigious about this sort of thing. Doldecomp (and most reverse engineering projects) work around this by forcing people to BYOD (Bring Your Own Disc) for the assets.
