Legacy is a bit harsh... FWIW, Canonical did not reach out to any of us who maintain GNU coreutils before, after, or during the transition. Had we known, we could have easily warned them about the incompatibilities.

Yeah, shouldn't have called it legacy, perhaps OG would have been more appropriate.
