Do you think anyone likes "AI" art and music? It's pretty widely reviled.
- StilesCrisis 21d agoOutside of our bubble, yeah, especially if it's not called out specifically as AI. YouTube and Facebook are awash in stuff that's pretty clearly AI, and it's getting engagement or they wouldn't keep making it.
- b40d-48b2-979e 20d agoAll of the "engagement" I see on those videos is calling out that it is slop and boomers being confused by whatever the topic is.
- StilesCrisis 19d agoI see stuff like this on YouTube all the time: https://youtube.com/shorts/eXwUySlUwgk https://youtube.com/shorts/eXwUySlUwgk Very obviously it's just a few Sora prompts spliced together into a video with music. There's no attempt to hide that. We get a quarter million views, 5500 likes, and comments are 90% enthusiastic and 10% "lol slop."
- y-curious 20d agoYes, unfortunately. I have met people that love AI videos (my in-laws being the closest to my bubble) and defend them as enjoying creativity. Many people with niche and nostalgic tastes loved that music AI that got sued to oblivion recently. For the record, I revile both as well. But for every person eating salad, there’s someone subsisting on McDonalds.
- b40d-48b2-979e 20d agoOkay, AI videos, whatever, people are stupid. But that's not art, and it's not music. People in my circles (art-adjacent) immediately bounce off AI images and music.
- fragmede 20d agoYeah, well, people in my circles are too cultured to have even heard of YouTube and Instagram, they listen to only the finest torrented FLACs that you have to download via special VPN, otherwise the bits download funny and you can really hear it, but only if you have good speakers made from the wood of an extinct evergreen tree that really brings out the harmonics.
