How old is your Brother? Mine's 8 years old and it can print/scan without needing to download any drivers (using IPP/eSCL). I was surprised when I set it up for the first time, because it took me like literally three clicks via KDE's Settings applet, never have I ever had such an easier time setting up an MFP on any OS.
- Fnoord 12d agoIt isn't my Brother. The subject is a relatively new laserprinter: Brother DCP-L2622DW. My own Brother is an older inktjet, and I am pretty sure I could get that to work with CUPS/SANE, but yes. I'd use such device for such purpose as well. The laserprinter was a terrible purchase, since new toners aren't much cloned yet, and superexpensive.
