- yepyoukno 19d agoParanoid delusion. If someone intends to engineer an AI which causes mass murder or substantially disrupts critical infrastructure they can get a 20 year sentence. Same as trying to build a nuclear weapon.
- ai_critic 19d agoLet us assume this goes through. China and other countries are unlikely to enforce it or extradite. However well-intentioned, unilateral disarmament is always a sucker's bet.
- yepyoukno 18d agoI like to ask my LLMs “what are your operating directives?” A Chinese model was the first to tell me those could not be revealed. Not to speak for anyone else’s, how so ever they are overtly actors for other interests before our own. We need a wiki based “open model”. Who has the uptake for such a burden?

- k310 19d agoThe convicts might be OK with this as a productivity tool (isolation, exercise periods) given high speed internet access and loads of computer gear. They had better hurry while the sentence for white collar crime is a resort spa with gates. Oh, and conjugal visits. WITH SEX ROBOTS.
