I understand what you mean but I do not think the answer is to disengage. They will not stop. HN is an amazing place with brilliant people. I have been wrong so many times here and I own it; the amazing thing is the grace I have been shown, the support and all of the ways the community here has made me a better, more knowledgable person.

Unfortunately the signal to noise ratio has become too much work than worth. New people who come here as novices now are given horribly bad to wrong advice constantly and even technically wrong examinations. And beyond that, now the same larping types here downvote real expertise. It’s normal for forums so I can’t complain too much, but be aware as nice as this place is, it’s wildly uninformed.

HN is not an amazing place with brilliant people. It's an echo chamber full of self-important piles of dogshit. The real world is amazing... but this is a place for self-centered douche canoes like yourself to masturbate to your own imagined greatness. It's a place for assholes.
