Exactly. It is hard to explain how great this is unless you tried to learn this by just looking at staff notation with having no idea what the sound actually was.
Literally like trying to learn color theory without vision.
- iainctduncan 21d agoEspecially if you're not a pianist. I play a monophonic instrument, so even though I did plenty of piano, it sure it wasn't up to "casually sightreading examples from the literature" level.
