Mine's a (big) drawer, not a box, and this summer I got rid of most of the duplicate cables (after testing them). It ended with like 50% less stuff. My wife didn't care and wasn't impressed; I think because it's a drawer in the office that only I open and look at. I did also make it more organized per cable type (USBs, Network, Audio, etc.). It's OK. It's for me. It's OK.
