Have you ever had anything go wrong that you could attribute to storing cables like this?
I understand the theoretical concerns here, but it feels like an overkill in real world situations.
- ButlerianJihad 10d agoI could offer some "anecdata of one" and describe my home environment, and narrate a few incidents, and I could explain the other precautions I've taken, according to the disciplines of my family's background. But what good is that? If I do not own a scanning electron microscope, and if I cannot pair that microscope with comparable images of the circuitry when it was 100% healthy, I really wouldn't be able to tell ya the root cause of malfunction in SODIMMs, SSDs, mainboards, or sdcards or smart-cables. ESD is a silent and invisible killer of electronics. Prevention is its best cure, IMHO.
