Ask HN: Why did my search engine post get removed?
I clearly haven't been flooding hacker news with a lot of self-promotion, so why was it removed?
- DamonHD 23d agoI can see a submission from you about SE from ~1h ago.
- mrmcsoftware 22d agoThanks for the info. I went through what I had thought was enough Show posts to find it, but apparently not enough :-( I haven't been on Hacker News in a few years and forgot how it works - I should have checked my submissions section. Though some websites mention that it can be hard to detect shadowbanning, so perhaps even checking submissions wouldn't have been enough. Good to see my post is still public.
- gus_massa 22d agoThey all go to https://news.ycombinator.com/shownew https://news.ycombinator.com/shownew , only after a few upvotes they go to https://news.ycombinator.com/show https://news.ycombinator.com/show , but I don't know the threshold.
- mrmcsoftware 22d agoGood to know... Thanks for the info!
- fsflover 23d agoIt didn't get removed. It's here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49631258 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49631258. Just nobody upvoted it.
