A few weeks ago I used claude to reverse engineer the linux version of resolve to add support for AAC media. The patch is here, and it works great:

AAC streams are decoded and sent to ffmpeg.
- nickjj 1mo agoDoes this introduce lag while editing? What about for encoding? For example if you want to export a video from Resolve in its final form with AAC audio. The readme mentions decoding but not encoding.

I haven't done a deep dive into creating custom plugins for Resolve, so I don't know what the implications of that are from a performance perspective. I wasn't able to benchmark it directly since it's only compatible with the Studio version.
