Similarly, according to my mom, by the time I or my sisters were five we rode our bikes to school by ourselves. Granted, that was in a Dutch village with less than a thousand people, where everyone knew everyone by their first name, so it probably was one of the safest places in the world for children to ride bikes, but still.
- aurareturn 27d agoIt actually warmed my heart seeing little children walk home alone in central Tokyo. I hope people here never feel unsafe to do this. Feeling safe enough to do this is an absolute blessing.
