Probably just never give it internet access and plug in an HTPC with some form of Linux (I've heard KDE's Plasma Bigscreen is better than ever, though I haven't tried it myself)
- drnick1 26d agoThis is the right solution. I would be tempted to go one step further: disassemble the TV and remove the WiFi card, antennas, and other unneeded hardware such as microphones or cameras. Same treatment as modern cars with cellular modems.
- designerarvid 26d agoSure, but that’s not a feasible solution for end-users, or people who hasn’t got all the free time
- picofarad 25d agoI wonder if there's MCX 50 ohm resistors...
- InvertedRhodium 25d agoI do this, but increasingly modern TVs complain about not being connected to the internet in general. Usually once every day or two I get a pop up on my Samsung 90F complaining that network access of required for some feature that seems to run on a timer.
