Words cannot hurt you.
- snapcaster 1mo agoyes they can what the hell are you talking about? i would wager "being hurt by words" is something close to a universal human experience
- hattmall 1mo agoWhat the hell are YOU talking about? Of course words can't actually hurt you. Being bothered <> hurt. You can hurt yourself perhaps in response to words but words can't do it, you have to apply the meaning and the hurt internally, as opposed to say rockets, which can hurt you without any involvement on your part at all.

- ASalazarMX 1mo agoYou're working on a very simplistic definition of harm, if not bleeding means not hurt. Almost toddler-like level.

- matt727 1mo agoI'm not hurt by words like that. I was thinking in general terms of moderation, slurs is one, but simple automated spam would be another thing, I imagine it isn't protected against. I just thought it was funny to see my initial concern verified so quickly.
- NBJack 1mo agoChaplinsky v. New Hampshire Virginia v. Black Gertz v. Robert Welch, Inc. While it may not apply to you personally, the U.S. Supreme Court largely disagrees with that sentiment.
- ASalazarMX 1mo agoThey do hurt people. Whoever says they don't just hasn't had the appropriate words thrown their way.
