The more satellites become the backbone access the simpler loss of access becomes. Physical connections will be more resilient.
- embedding-shape 20d agoUnless those satellites happen to be launched, maintained and controlled by a for-profit company, who's owned by a person who doesn't exactly ooze "controlled and tactful choices and strategies" from what we know.
- niij 20d agoSatellites will never be the internet backbone. Straight line paths over fiber will always be more efficient for carrying bulk traffic. Last "mile", sure.
