Ask HN: Rename ChatGPT?
"Pretrained" now feels somewhat implicit. Do you think OpenAI will ever ditch the GPT nomenclature, and if so, what would be better?
- Ajmax 2mo agorenaming it now would be dumb honestly, GPT is basically a brand at this point like "google it." ditching it just kills recognition for no real reason if anything the bigger risk is "gpt" turning into a generic term for any ai model, kinda like xerox did for photocopiers
