- taw 18y agoHere's my theory of dating sites - free sites like plentyoffish/okcupid actually cost guys a lot more than paid sites. When everyone is forced to pay per month, everyone is proactive and actually tries to get some dates going. On free sites guys chase girls, and girls ignore 95% of messages because they're in no hurry and many just opened an account because they were bored. Amount of time guys waste costs them much more than savings from not paying the subscription fee.
