- frantathefranta 29d agoI guess I don’t look at company Wikipedia pages very often but this one seems particularly “written by corporate”.
- elil17 28d agoIn general yes, but what about this sentence: > Reitano's personal experience with a heart condition, and his desire to recreate his father, a doctor, out of software as a hologram, inspired him to co-found the company.
- lloydarmbrust 29d agoThe truth is a lot less exciting. We got into YC and registered the company name that night, and the domain name was available. The Ro connection was pointed out later. If we are forced to rebrand, we will be more thoughtful.
- ipsum2 29d agoYou probably not want this to show up in discovery documents when you do get sued. Pretend you didn't know about it.
- elil17 28d agolmao this comment is going to be pulled up by the plaintiff's lawyers and used to show willful infringement. someone's going to be paying treble + plaintiff's legal fees seriously though you should probably consult a lawyer about whether to change the name, especially given that you've posed this comment in public
- tancop 28d agoLooks like they don't use the Roman name anywhere, it's just Ro. If they changed in 2018 it should 100% count as abandoned trademark.
