"Intransitive", a board game [video]
- zahlman 2mo agoFrom the designer of hexagonal tic-tac-toe (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47537789 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47537789). This one features a grid with pieces that move like chess kings but follow rock-paper-scissors rules to capture each other. The objective is to land one of your own pieces on the opponent's goal square.
- bmacho 2mo agoI really like the idea behind it, using he actual RPS mechanics and the 1->2->3->1 cyclic beating instead of just something similar. It Stratego or in many games different types of units usually have different strengths against each other, but making it 100% is brilliant! I also quiet like the game, I never really could get into studying tactics or strategy for chess/shogi/go, but I'm fascinated with Intransitive right now! I love both the tactics during opening and the endgame! Right now I enjoy it far more than other abstact strategy war games. The game is very new (couple of days old) so everyone's a beginner and there aren't as many cheaters. You can join and play with others at <https://meaf.us/rps2/ https://meaf.us/rps2/>!
