Many content creators on YouTube may not have English as their first language, so they turn to AI to do the voice over. The thing is, I'd rather listen to broken English read by a human than an AI voice over. The AI voices are off putting and tiresome. It's somehow hurts my brain less trying to process a Chinese person speak bad English. Alternatively for something like YouTube, add subtitles and just speak your own language is much more comfortable than the AI voice-overs.
- lynx97 1mo agoDepends. I take an AI generated voice over a french guy trying to talk english every day! Same for japanese. I really try, but I find these two speaker types really hard to follow and stay alert.
- mrweasel 1mo agoI think I'd prefer they speak their native language and add subtitles, but not AI generated ones, because the AI also can't understand a Frenchmen speaking English.
- carlosjobim 1mo agoThey should make the videos in their own language. YouTube has subtitles.
