Applied 2 months ago. No response
- html5cat 1mo agoapologies, we've got a lot of ai-generated applications in the last few months so might have missed it. mind bumping the thread and mention `html5cat` and i'll make sure we look into it? thank you!
- html5cat 29d agofound your thread – your email covers things you did, but nothing about "why Puma" or other simple questions we ask. seems like one sided, generic mass application. impressive background, but didn't seem like you care about what we're building.
- gleb-arestov 28d agoI guess you found the wrong thread. 1. I received a question about my schedule (meaning: no other questions asked), I answered and received no further response. 2. I applied using your own template {a note on what you're most proud of building and what you'd like to build next}. My application was absolutely not generic mass application 3. I sent you several things I’m proud of. Among them were: - A Product I build (independently) - linkkraft browser that captures pages/resources using chrome devtools protocol & other electron network API), basicly local-first browser. https://arestov.github.io/linkkraft-notes/trails-tree-plus-offline-for-tool-for-thoughts/linkkraft-fresh-offline-spa.mp4 https://arestov.github.io/linkkraft-notes/trails-tree-plus-o... You are "building private, local AI in browser". This seemed specifically relevant, escpecialy if you are building a browser agent, not just a chat (like aside https://aside.com/blog/how-we-built-the-sota-browser-agent-that-outperforms-fable https://aside.com/blog/how-we-built-the-sota-browser-agent-t...). - my open source contributions to p2p (torrent network) libraries. I did this because you have IPFS (which is p2p network) in browser. Your application template does not contain "why Puma?" question, but spending my own time on these 2 things (local-first browser, p2p) and including them in the application was, I believe, a pretty clear answer to it. I do appreciate you responding directly.
- html5cat 27d agotry counting how many "I"/"my" you have even in just this comment compared to "team" or "Puma" or "users/customers". instead of bumping the email thread you decide to put this all publicly. ok. but if you want to be pedantic, our HN post includes "what you'd like to build next?" which you conveniently skipped. if you read our website, the application there includes "Why I’m interested to join Puma?". you seem to care much more about being right than making progress or being helpful. i hope you change your approach since you clearly can build things.
- josecodea 1mo agoSame here, sent and email 3 times across the last 2 years, no reply
- html5cat 29d agoyour first two application were generic and ignored the few basic questions that we ask in the posting, thus subsequent one didn't get reviewed
- boltzmann-brain 26d agoI applied in February, included answers to your questions, my email was not generic - it was fully handwritten for your post, it only talked about things relevant to Puma, and included a CV. I received no response either. I'll be honest, it's not looking good for you
- html5cat 25d agoWhich of these two are not generic? There's dozens you spammed us and other startup founders with. Some are just empty emails with just CV. None were sent in Feb fyi. "I have attached my resume in response to your posting. I am interested in interviewing ASAP." "Good afternoon, I saw your post on HackerNews and I am interested in interviewing. Best, Brian"
- boltzmann-brain 25d agoI'm not Brian. I also doubt Jose or Gleb were Brian. You're talking to another person now. I am the third person who replied to you in this thread. My friend, should you be hiring people if you get lost in a chat thread?
- html5cat 24d agothanks Gmail for Google Workspace for pulling Brian's threads when searched for `boltzmann-brain`. but yeah, if you bump the thread with `html5cat` mentioned i'll personally look into it – my goal is to respond to every earnestly submitted application despite the sea of AI slop. update: found your email – definitely well written but didn't have GitHub so it got skipped.
