  PG has had a license to print visas. Fund a company whose founders are from outside the US and they basically get an automatic “genius” visa. This has not gone unnoticed by wealthy parents who, via the usual quid pro quo agreements have had stunning success in getting their kid’s/nephew’s/cousin’s roommate accepted into YC. No qualifications other than cutting a check required.
