It's just a nice round number to use as a clear boundary.
- Aachen 26d agoWhy not just have it be rounded under its own gravity? Collapse two rules into one. If nice round systems with clear boundaries is what you're going for
- baggy_trough 25d agoYou still have to have some subjective number to decide how round something has to be, and it admits too many small objects.
