I hate to tell them, they don't need a $100k robot to power cycle a server: remote power resets are a common feature in enterprise PDUs.
But if ya wanna robot to press a chassis button...
- wmf 1mo agoMeta doesn't use enterprise equipment (for example the "PDU" is a passive DC bus bar); they've chosen to make a tradeoff between capex and service cost.
- newsomix9xl 1mo agoSo it has no remote power reset functionality?
- wmf 1mo agoThey have BMCs in each server but if the BMC doesn't respond they are probably using humans to physically unplug the sled.
