Those stated beliefs are shockingly close to far-leftism. So I'm guessing the same radical exclusionary zeal is also being applied here.
Also, for clarity, I'm not taking those definitions literally, but rather as dog whistles for a very specific group of people (I'm from the Portland, OR area and I'm _very_ familiar with this group that has been terrorizing my poor city).
- mdp2021 1mo ago> very specific group of people These are Italians. There are all possibilities the spirits are different - unless globalization (of information and communication, "of culture") had merged the two.
- 2legit2quit 1mo ago>I'm not taking those definitions literally Given that fascism had quite the bloodied history in Italy (see: Mussolini), and we're talking about a group literally based in Italy, why wouldn't you? Is it because you were unaware of said history in Italy and never experienced fascism first-hand, yourself?
- aliasxneo 1mo agoWhy did you pick one thing on the list and ignore all of the others?
- inigyou 1mo agoThat's a standard anti-gish-gallop tactic.
- mdp2021 1mo agoVery probably because he took all the others for granted and thought that only the one he got explicit about was that which some may perceive as odd.
- 2legit2quit 1mo ago> Why did you pick one thing on the list and ignore all of the others? Pointing out the solipsism of your take with a single "thing" was enough to demonstrate your myopic world view, I thought, however we can expound upon that further by covering them all. Would you care to address the first "thing", before we continue on?
- inigyou 1mo agoWhich group of people are you taking it as a dog whistle for?
- inigyou 1mo agoIs it really radical or exclusionary to say no racists allowed, no sexists allowed? I don't think so.
- mdp2021 1mo agoIt may be (it also depends on the details that had the evaluator label the excluded) - but I think that "my property, my guests - my selected guests". With exclusions which are in fact legally mandated in some territories - but in general, especially when the service is more informal, those I could lend a toothbrush to will be part of a selected number.
