A tactic of certain "anti-fascist" groups is to simply call anyone they don't like fascist and attack them. Just like actual fascists used to excuse violence as "anti-communist".
Claiming to be anti-fascist doesn't actually make them anti-fascist nor excuse them from breaking laws.
- inigyou 2mo agoA tactic of certain fascist groups is to simply claim their opponents simply call anyone they don't like fascist and attack them. How can we objectively decide who's right?
- dismalaf 2mo agoHave objective laws and prosecute people who break them.
- inigyou 2mo agoHow will that tell us who the fascists are?
- imsofuture 2mo agoWe should have LLMs decide.
- inigyou 2mo agoHow will that be objective?
- dismalaf 2mo agoDo you even have a definition of fascist? Is it: 1) Right wingers 2) People who hate Jews and glorify Hitler 3) Governments who make laws requiring corporations to cooperate with the state
- inigyou 2mo agoWhy do you present three equally ridiculous options?
- dismalaf 2mo agoThese are all definitions people have used. So what's your definition?
- vrganj 2mo agoIt's none of these. Umberto Eco's ur-fascism is a good starting point for a more serious definition: https://www.nybooks.com/articles/1995/06/22/ur-fascism/ https://www.nybooks.com/articles/1995/06/22/ur-fascism/
- vrganj 2mo agoWho gets to decide what's objective?
