- actionfromafar 2mo agoI wanted to read about running Kafka on VMS.
- cduzz 2mo agoI wonder if you could run kafka on k8s on VMS on VMs on ec2? https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/migration-and-modernization/deploying-openvms-x86-on-amazon-ec2/ https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/migration-and-modernization/dep...
- hi_hi 2mo agoI feel seen. I find this happening about 70% of the time now. Maybe 50% of that 70% it takes a few paragraphs where my brain is squinting at something not feeling quite right before I hit the slop line, then I feel stupid for not picking it up sooner. Give me back the days of rage bait about people’s tech preferences. At least there were opinions and beliefs being laid bare for all to see in their naked, yet occasionally dumb, beauty. Now we don’t even get opinions or dumbness to read. It’s like humanities personalities have been Gaussian blurred to a point where I can kinda understand what’s being said, but without the richness and detail.
- geodel 2mo agoDamn, I was at exactly same place when I closed tab and came back here. I just started reading, finding author pompous writing themselves in 3rd person. I'd say it is crisis (of slop) and it is decision to keep generating slop nonetheless.
