I was expecting it to be a massive hassle but the Apple Wallet integration surprised me. It was so easy to create a card and add funds Credit to the Suica folk and Apple folk for making it seamless. As for the speed.. idk I think it's about as quick as the Oyster card. Phone payments have a bunch of extra latency on TfL too.
