single use card tied to you, or via some privacy frontend? if the latter, care to share your experience?
- DarmokTanagra 2mo agomany cards offer virtual card numbers, robinhood card offers name anonymization. been a user for a couple years now and no complaints
- _zoltan_ 2mo agorobinhood is not available here in Switzerland unfortunately.
- rsync 2mo agoA reminder: Neither visa nor MasterCard networks have the ability to verify cardholder name. Everyone behaves as if they do, but your name cannot be verified. Which is to say, all of these cards have name anonymization, not just robinhood.
- DarmokTanagra 2mo agoI was unaware of that, is address also unverifiable?
- rsync 2mo agoYes, address is verifiable.
- peddling-brink 2mo agoAccording to wikipedia, AVS only verifies the numeric portion of an address. But I haven't tried this, so ymmv. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Address_verification_service#:~:text=AVS%20typically%20verifies%20only%20the%20numeric%20portions%20of%20a%20cardholder%27s%20billing%20address https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Address_verification_service#:... Vendors like Stripe may do more than Visa/MC though.
- zackwu 2mo agoyeah I found it out a while back and since then I've been using randomly generated names during checkout every time - no issues ever
