- StilesCrisis 1mo agoI'm sure it benchmarks well, but does it actually have good battery life?
- frollogaston 1mo agoEven aside from battery life, high TDP means thermal throttling under sustained load. Which most of these benchmarks don't really test, or if they did, the ambient temperature affects the results.
- sorz 1mo agoThey do test continuous (1-hour) gaming performance in controlled environment regularly. Thermal throttling can be easily spotted on the frame rate vs time graph.

- StilesCrisis 1mo agoThe goalposts have been at "performance-per-watt" for a very, very long time. That was why Apple pivoted from PowerPC to Intel, believe it or not. PowerPC laptops couldn't match the battery life of Intel, so Apple pivoted. How times change!
- KerrAvon 1mo agotop comment right now on this very page: "But actual results inside phone with smartphone cooling and wattage requirement became close to 3300"
- well_ackshually 1mo agoNo lmao, top comment is saying MediaTek's variant of an ARM C1 Ultra dropped to 3300, attempting to link it to this CPU through vibes and magic
- strictnein 1mo agoI mean, they're in a thread on my comment whose point is "let's see power per watt". The goalposts started there. A comment responded to me by saying some Chinese youtubers found it to be good. The person responded saying "but what about battery life" which was the original topic. The person you're responding to also has never said anything about any other metric.
- mort96 1mo agoDid their test results include power draw?
- throwa356262 1mo agoYes, and it looked pretty good for an engineering sample. See this video from chineese youtubeer geerkerwan: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BCCJuOopLK8 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BCCJuOopLK8
- mort96 1mo agoOh, so we're at the "good for an engineering sample" stage not "competitive with Apple" stage
- throwa356262 1mo agoNot sure what you mean, but production silicon will be used in their phones next month.
- mort96 1mo agoI mean that we don't have numbers for how this competes with Apple
