Yes the AST would be language specific, but I believe that it has benefits when it comes at code processing/modification within a programming language. For example when it comes to package upgrades. When you have to upgrade the version of a package and adjust the client code over multiple projects, lets say they are written in TypeScript, you will have to provide Claude the code as context for each project. Maybe if you use AST transformation rules, you could apply the changes to all your projects. I am trying to build this tool Apiweiser, https://apiweiser.vercel.app/ https://apiweiser.vercel.app/ which tracks your packages and REST APIs you call, and applies fixes to your code whenever they change.
