  When you can, software tends to be better. True of all engineering. Hence, our current enshittification trend

  Only if you keep people out of software. The broader meaning of politics used above is something like ‘the way groups of people make decisions’.

  software is actually one of the sectors most vulnerable to politics as it's a lot more difficult to measure how much value employees add compared to other sectors. Marketing, sales, manufacturing ... are relatively simple to track.
