- JohnFen 2mo agoThe thesis is this: you cannot grow a pumpkin. All you can do is put a pumpkin seed in conditions that encourage it to grow. It does the growing all by itself. The author clearly intends this to be an analogy, but leaves it to you to decide what it's an analogy for, specifically.
